Program Overview

Kid Power Hour is a 12 - week fitness and wellness program for kids ages 6 –14 that blends energetic workouts, mindful practices, and teamwork to help children grow physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Program Structure

Move

Fun games, obstacle courses, and HIT basics to buildstrength and stamina

Heal

Mindfulness, breathing exercises, and discipline practices to calm the mind

Build

teamwork, leadership activities, and confidence - building exercises

Program Logstics

Ages: 6 - 14

Schedule: Afterschool (Mon & Wed) + Saturday mornings

Location: Motivational Team Athletic Academy @ 3445 Toledano St, New Orleans

Cost: Free to individuals with Louisiana Medicaid. Sliding scale fee for those who aren’t Medicaid eligible

Get Moving, Feeling Great:

Kids try fun HIIT basics (like jump rope and sprints) while learning how movement boosts their mood.

Strong & Calm:

Power moves (push-ups, squat jumps) pair with breathing and positive self-talk to build calm strength.

Team Power:

Partner relays and tosses teach cooperation, communication, and working together.

Confidence Builders:

Agility and balance drills help kids celebrate effort and discover their strengths.

Focus Time:

Coordination games and obstacle courses sharpen focus and attention through mindful play.

Gratitude in Motion:

A mix of favorite circuits ends with a gratitude circle, affirmations, and a family reflection.

Strength in Numbers:

Group-based circuits emphasize teamwork, accountability, and encouragement from peers.

Mindful Discipline:

Kids learn discipline through structured challenges, combining bodyweight workouts with mindfulness exercises.

Resilience Routines:

Circuit drills with unexpected twists teach adaptability, perseverance, and bouncing back from setbacks.

Leadership in Action:

Kids take turns leading warm-ups or games, building confidence and leadership skills.

Balance & Harmony:

Yoga-inspired movements and coordination drills connect body control with emotional regulation.

Celebrate Growth:

A showcase week with favorite activities, gratitude practice, certificates, and a family celebration event.
